Numbers – Hoarding Film Edition

Yesterday afternoon, I caught a motherfucking huge batch of film from someone on CraigsList. Black and white and colour, 120 and 220, fresh and expired, various ISOs … all in two large Ziplog bags.

All this shit for $25. That’s $25 for this:

Here’s in bag 1:

6 Kodak 400TX 120
5 Kodak Portra 400NC 220
4 Kodak Portra 160NC 220
4 Kodak Portra 160VC 220

Here’s in bag 2:

8 Kodak 320 Tri-X 220
7 Kodak 125 Plus-X 220
6 Ilford FP4 Plus 120
5 Ilford 100 Delta 120
3 Ilford 200 SFX 120
2 Agfa 100 Optima II 120
1 Agfa Scala 200X 120
1 Kodak T400CN T-Max 120
1 Fujifilm 100 Acros 120

So that’s:

38 Black-and-white
15 Colour
25 120
28 220

Here’s my initial reaction upon getting both for the price of one:

Yeah … we’re gonna need a bigger boat.

Latest Batch + From the Darkness When It’s Intense . . .

Who said it was easy to live a life as a wrongfully marked man?

Or to live with a knife in your back, lodged by someone from your own family and people who were supposed to defend you, who did it out of selfish impulses, despite knowing you’re innocent, and that you were at your most vulnerable?

Or being forced to live a lie, to not crack in public, out of terror that a man in grief would be mistaken as a man insane?

Or live with so much lost and ruined, and then mocked by the very people that did it do you, who tricked you, and laid snares and traps in your path?

Or live with knowing that the real criminals were allowed to escape, laughing at how they got away with blood on their hands?

Or living in a daily reminder of betrayal and failure on the part of those entrusted to protect and defend you, bought by money that was supposed to be for a proper solution?

Or knowing that even a simple explanation about it doesn’t do it justice, and only unintentionally scares people?

A storm is coming. Fury has been there, in me, for so long, yet tucked in so deep, the mind weathered from fighting fruitless battles, waging a war completely alone, unarmed, unguided. I wish I could cry every day.

Anyways, enjoy, indulge, or endure.

Night of the Long Exposures

Definitely need to use my tripod for next time. That or a monopod and a cable release. So here’s some of that and the usual batch of nonsense from my lens! Enjoy, indulge, or endure. Getting less sloppy now but I need to get back to what I used to do. Ugh . . . .

Last year I used the last of my 220 films (I once had more than 10 rolls, though they were used for other photos) for the MMVAs. It was awfully crowded, and I was late for the opening, where free perascopes made out of milk cartons were passed around. It was jammed packed and awfully difficult to move around, especially when holding an old TLR in your hands in my attempt at photojournalism. There was a stage right at the corner of John and Queen, and from there along the south of John was the red carpet flanked with fans, photographers, journalists and spectators. People were standing along the railing, on telephone polls, mailboxes, and so on, trying to catch a glimpse of the celebs on the carpet. It was crushing but at least there was some flow.

I also tried turning my camera upside down to get a better view of the action below.

Enjoy, indulge or endure.

Art? Accident? Accidental Art?

Have no idea how the fuck this happened but this was taken last year.

What do you think this is? Or was? Or should be? Or could be?

A waterfall? A shaggy dog? You decide!

Enjoy, indulge, or endure.
